During European Week of the Regions and Cities, we were asked to facilitate and contribute to one of the many Breakfast working tables sessions, at the stunning rooftop location of The Square meeting place in central Brussels.
Our working session was on ‘Societal Engagement Tools for Cities’, for the EIP-SCC Mplace Citizen Focus Action Cluster. Which was followed by the EIP-SCC (EU Smart Cities) General Assembly. Excellent panel discussions from Nokia, Ericsson, to presentations from São Paulo and their Smart City strategy, amongst many others.
Always a pleasure listening to Markku Markkula, First Vice-President of Committee of the Regions. Advocating the benefits of collaboration and understanding of Co-Designing, Participatory Processes, Civic Engagement, amongst Smart Cities Digital Transformation, etc. All the elements that are relevant for Cities and Communities. Ideal message for the week for the EU Regions and Cities.
Let’s get more Cities involved now that we have Ambassador Cities of Glasgow, Leeds and Utrecht. Have a read at the first results and the Citizen Focus Roadmap.
